    History in the Making

Basketball is a ball sport played by two teams of five players on a side. It is one of the most popular sports in the United States, being highly suited to viewing by spectators as an indoor sport on a relatively small court with only ten players. The ball is large and easy to follow, and the lack of protective gear makes it possible to see the reactions of players. The sport is also reasonably popular in other parts of the world such as southern Europe and in the former Soviet Union. Click Here for More

Sometimes known outside of North America as Gridiron Football, American Football is a competitive team sport in which two teams fight for control of an oblate spheroid ball (a direct descendant of a size 3 rugby ball), which they have to carry in the arms and/or pass to another player (only one forward pass permitted per football play). Ice hockey, known simply as "hockey" in areas where it is more common than field hockey, is a team sport played on ice. The objective of the game is to score by playing a hard rubber disc, the puck, in one of the goals placed on opposite sites of the rink. The players may control the puck using a long, curved stick. Players may also kick the puck and redirect it by hand without closing the hand on the puck. Click Here for More

    Group Effort - Rugby

Rugby football is a catch-all term which may refer to two related but separate sports: Rugby League and Rugby Union. Both forms of the game are very popular in the United Kingdom, France, Australia and New Zealand. The distinctive features common to both rugby games are the ovoid ball and the fact that passing the ball forwards is illegal, so that ground can be gained only by running with the ball or kicking it.
