Technology

Technology is the study and knowledge of the practical applications of scientific discoveries; e.g. for the production of goods and services that improve the human condition and environment. The processes by which human beings fashion tools and machines to increase their control and understanding of the material environment. Technology is closely related to science and engineering. It includes the development of new materials, machinery, and processes that improve production and solve technical problems. The use of tools, machines, materials, techniques, and sources of power to make work easier and more productive. Industrial technology began 200 years ago with the introduction of power-driven machines, the growth of factories, and the mass production of goods.

Whereas science is concerned with understanding how and why things happen, technology deals with making things happen; it can be subdivided into many specializations, such as medical, military, and nuclear. Technology has helped people to gain control over nature, and so build a civilized world. Undesirable side-effects include increased pollution and loss of jobs as a result of automation.

Agriculture

Agriculture is the science and practice of cultivating of land, producing crops, and raising animals. It also refers to many associated processes or enterprises, such as food processing. No one knows precisely when humans first started a sustained, systematic practice of agriculture, but evidence has shown signs of agriculture in the Middle East and Mexico that date back to approximately 7000 BC. Some of the earliest cultivated crops included emmer wheat, wild barley, pumpkin, peas, and beans. Click Here for More

Computers and Internet

A computer is an electronic data-processing device. It communicates with other electronic devices to receive data, store and manipulate them (using mathematical and logical calculations specified in a sequence of instructions called a program), and transmit the results, e.g accept a sequence of numbers typed in at a keyboard, and plot a graph of them on a visual display unit, or monitor. Engineering

Engineering is the application of science to the needs of humanity. This is accomplished through knowledge, mathematics and practical experience applied to the design of useful objects or processes. Its practitioners are called engineers. The engineer must identify and understand the relevant constraints in order to produce a successful design. Constraints include available resources, physical or technical limitations, flexibility for future modifications and additions, and other factors such as requirements for cost, manufacturability, serviceability, and marketing and aesthetic considerations. Radio

Radio is a system of communication employing electromagnetic waves propagated through space. Electromagnetic waves travel in a straight line or by reflection from the ionosphere or from a communications satellite. Waves in general are measured or specified by two properties: the physical length of the wave, and the number of times the wave cycle is repeated in a given period of time. Click Here for More

Television

Television is a telecommunication system for broadcasting and receiving moving pictures and sound over a distance. The term has come to refer to all aspects of television programming and transmission as well. The first long distance public television broadcast was from Washington, DC to New York City and occurred on April 7, 1927. Click Here for More
